TAYLORSVILLE, Utah -- Firefighters with Unified Fire Department battled a fire that threatened an apartment complex in Taylorsville Thursday evening.

Crews were dispatched to 4341 Riverboat Road shortly after 7 p.m.

That's where the Fairstone at Riverview Apartments are located.

Residents rushed to move their cars out of the way as flames moved toward the parking lot.

"I was getting afraid for cars and apartments," Chantelle Edwards said.  "It was scary because there's kids and people and it could have jumped the fence and come into apartments."

Now investigators are investigating how a few fires flared up along the Jordan River Trail all at the same time.

The investigation into what caused the fire is still underway, and arson has not been ruled out.
