The latest COVID-19 numbers have been released by the Utah Department of Health.
632 new lab-confirmed cases were announced Saturday afternoon, bringing the statewide total to 28,855.
16,897 of those cases are considered to be “recovered” by the state.
Approximately 405,352 people have been tested for the virus, an increase of 9,378 new tests since Friday.
1,797 people have been hospitalized since March, and 203 are currently hospitalized.
Five new deaths were reported, bringing the statewide fatality rate to 212.
The new deaths include:
- Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 25-44, Washington County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
