5 new deaths; 513 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Utah

The State of Utah reported an additional 513 COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the state's total to 53,839 confirmed cases. The rolling 7-day average for positive tests in the state is now 411 per day.

Department of Health officials also announced five new deaths caused by the virus. Utah has now tallied 419 total deaths in the state.

Here is additional information on the five new deaths reported Friday:

  • Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • Female, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, between 65-84, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • Male, older than 85, Davis County resident, hospitalized at time of death

45,547 of Utah's cases are considered "recovered". A case with a diagnosis date of more than three weeks ago, who has not passed away, is considered recovered.
