SALT LAKE CITY — From the Utah Department of Health:
The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Wednesday shows the state now has 47,521 positive cases of the disease, an increase of 364 since Tuesday's report, and a total of 377 deaths.
610,362 people in Utah have now been tested for COVID-19. The state's rolling seven-day average for positive cases is 346 per day.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,832 people in Utah have required hospitalization for COVID-19 and 139 remain hospitalized.
The eight new deaths reported Wednesday are:
- Male, between 45 and 64, Cache County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65 and 84, San Juan County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65 and 84, Utah County resident, hospitalized prior to death
- Male, between 45 and 64, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 65 and 8, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of death
38,883 of Utah's cases—nearly 82 percent—are considered "recovered." A case with a diagnosis date of more than three weeks ago, who has not passed away, is considered recovered.
