More than 207K vaccines administered in Utah; 2,649 more cases and 24 additional COVID-19 deaths announced Friday

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Health's COVID-19 report for Friday shows an increase of 2,649 confirmed cases—bringing the state's total to 333,118—and 24 additional deaths.

So far, 1,948,153 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The state's rolling seven-day average for the number of positive tests is 1,860 per day, and the seven-day average for the percent of positive tests is 19.

A total of 207,127 vaccines have now been administered in Utah.

488 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

1,571 people in Utah have died of COVID-19. The 24 deaths announced Friday are:

  1. Male, between 65-84, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  2. Female, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  3. Male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
  4. Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  5. Female, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
  6. Male, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
  7. Female, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  8. Male, between 65-84, Sanpete County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  9. Male, older than 85, Cache County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  10. Female, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death

"5 of the 24 deaths being reported today occurred prior to December 31, 2020. The Office of the Medical Examiner conducts thorough investigations of all potential COVID-related deaths, these investigations can take several weeks to complete," UDOH noted in Friday's report.
