One more COVID-19 death and 727 new cases reported Friday

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Dept. of Health reported 727 new cases of COVID-19 and one new death Friday.

The latest person to die was a Weber County man between the ages of 65 and 84 who was hospitalized at time of death.

He became the 235th person in Utah to die from COVID-19.

There are 198 people currently hospitalized with the illness.

The increase in positive cases brought the total in the state to 32,572.

There were 8,278 more people tested since Thursday and 447,806 people have now been tested in Utah.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 599 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 10.3 percent.
