Positive COVID-19 test rate passes 20% in Sunday's report from Department of Health

Utah's rolling seven-day average of positive COVID-19 tests has now become one in five.

New Cases
2,386 new cases were reported Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 132,621 since March.

Testing
9,311 new tests were reported since Saturday's case count, bringing the total number of people tested in Utah since the pandemic began to 1,158,817.
The rolling seven-day average of positive tests is now 2,290, or approximately 20.6% of those tested.

Hospitalizations
424 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19. There have been 6,084 hospitalizations since March.

Deaths
One new death has been reported, for a statewide fatality rate of 659. The newly reported death was was a man from Tooele County between the ages of 45 and 64 who was hospitalized at the time of death.
