COALVILLE, Utah — A Coalville man is facing a charge of voyeurism involving a child after he was accused of climbing on a roof to peer into a young teenager's bedroom Sunday.
According to a probable cause statement for Jayson Reyes Garcia, a girl heard footsteps on her roof as she was getting ready for bed.
She told her parents, who went outside and saw a man on the roof, the statement said.
"According to the victim's parents, [Garcia] attempted to flee by jumping off their roof and into their backyard where they were able to make contact with him," an officer wrote in the probable cause statement.
Deputies reported that the window screen on the girl's bedroom window was pried away.
Garcia has been booked into the Summit County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
