SALT LAKE CITY — The FBI is looking for a man who has robbed banks and credit unions inside stores in at least five cities along the Wasatch Front.
The suspect is dubbed the “Band-Aid Bandit” on a FBI Wanted poster because he has been observed wearing BAND-AIDS on his fingers.
The first known robbery by this man took place Dec. 9, 2019 and the most recent was just last Thursday, Aug. 27.
He is suspected in at least seven robberies in Salt Lake City, South Jordan, West Jordan, Lehi and Kaysville.
In four of those robberies, he was seen driving away in a 2018 or 2019 white-silver Volkswagen Tiguan.
He is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He changes his appearance and wears different hats during the robberies.
The most recent robbery took place last Thursday just before 5 p.m. An unknown male robbed the America First Credit Union inside the Bowman’s Market located at 326 North Main Street in Kaysville. He presented a note threatening to have a weapon.
That is the same modus operandi the man has used at seven robberies at the following locations:
- Dec. 9, 2019: Cyprus Credit Union inside the Walmart Supercenter located at 11328 South Jordan Gateway in South Jordan.
- Jan. 3, 2020: America First Credit Union inside the Dan’s Foods located at 1360 South Foothill Drive in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Feb. 7, 2020: US Bank inside the Smith’s Food and Drug located at 4080 West 9000 South in West Jordan.
- Feb. 28, 2020: US Bank inside the Smith’s Food and Drug located at 1550 East 3500 North in Lehi.
- May 5, 2020: US Bank inside the Smith’s Food and Drug located at 1174 West 600 North in Salt Lake City.
- July 25, 2020: Goldenwest Credit Union inside the Macey’s grocery store located at 760 East Main Street in Lehi.
- Aug. 27, 2020: America First Credit Union inside the Bowman’s Market located at 326 North Main Street in Kaysville.
