LAYTON, Utah — Layton police officers responded to a report of a stabbing just after 9 p.m. Monday night.

When they arrived at the home at 1238 Parkside Lane, they discovered two adult brothers had been in an altercation.

According to Sgt. Brent Ericksen, one brother, age 30, was stabbed in the neck.

He was flown to the University of Utah Hospital and is expected to survive.

He was in and out of consciousness, which is why a helicopter was called.

The brother suspected in the stabbing is 27-year-old Preston Johnson.

He was booked into the Davis County jail on suspicion of an aggravated domestic violence assault as well as domestic violence in the presence of a child.

The stabbing took place in the home of the brothers' parents.
