WEST VALLEY CITY — A teenager is in custody after leading police on a chase through West Valley City.
Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, officers recognized a stolen truck near 3800 South and 2200 West.
They tried to pull the pickup over, but the driver -- later identified as a 14-year-old -- sped away.
Police followed but the suspect drove through a wall and crashed.
The driver took off on foot, but lost his shoes while running away.
He was arrested but a passenger in the truck got away.
The teen is expected to be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and fleeing from police.
