FARMINGTON, Utah — An 80-year-old man died late Thursday night when he was hit by a vehicle as he tried to run across I-15 in Farmington.

It happened at about 11:30 p.m. on northbound I-15 near milepost 323.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the victim had been driving a blue Toyota Camry when his vehicle was rear-ended by a silver Nissan. The Camry spun into the HOV lane and the Nissan pulled into the right emergency shoulder.

After the crash, the Camry driver ran toward the Nissan but was hit and killed by a northbound Honda Crossover. No one else was injured.

Troopers closed I-15 at 200 W for about three hours as they investigated the incident.
