LAYTON, Utah — One person was sent to the hospital after a vehicle collided with a building in Layton early Sunday morning.
Officers were dispatched just before 5:30 a.m. to the area of 1010 North and Hill Field Road.
A dark vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed did not make the turn at Gordon Avenue and collided with a building on the southeast corner of the intersection.
The driver, a 26-year-old male, was the only occupant in the car.
He was able to climb out of the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital.
His immediate condition was unknown.
Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the accident, and he was later cited for a DUI.
Crews extracted the vehicle from the building, which sustained substantial damage.
Disaster cleanup was also on scene to handle cleanup.
No other injuries were reported.
