OGDEN, Utah — A man is in custody after allegedly stealing a vehicle and driving under the influence while leading police chase on a chase throughout multiple Utah counties Wednesday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the area of 2700 S. and 1900 W. after the suspect attempted to steal a victim's vehicle at knife point.
The suspect was unsuccessful, but drove away in a different stolen car before officers arrived on the scene.
A pursuit ensued when officers originally attempted to stop the man on 12th St. in Ogden.
The multi-county chase resulted in minor accidents involving other vehicles before officers were able to stop the suspect using a PIT maneuver.
Officers believe the man was driving while impaired and was booked into jail on charges of aggravated robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
