The residents of a home in Salt Lake City, including many pets, are safe after an early morning fire.
Crews responded to a basement fire in the area of 400 North and 1400 West Saturday morning.
In addition to the four residents of the home, crews also saved six dogs, one large tortoise, two small tortoises, three cats, one parrot, three snakes, and two lizards.

Crews were unable to rescue one bird.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
