One person is dead, and a driver is being investigated for impairment following an accident Saturday morning.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, a white SUV was traveling southbound on I-15. The vehicle struck a pedestrian at the top of the 4500 South off ramp around 4:30 a.m. and continued driving.
A citizen followed the SUV and called 911 to report reckless driving.
Murray Police located the SUV and driver. They also responded back to the scene and located a deceased person.
The right lanes, and the 4500 South off ramp on I-15 Southbound will be closed through mid-morning as Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
The victim has not been named, and it is unknown why they were on the freeway.
