SALT LAKE CITY — Parts of northern Utah are receiving rain and snow Wednesday morning as the first in a pair of storms moves through the state.

The National Weather Service reports most valley locations across northern Utah are receiving rain, and snow is present in higher elevations.
NWS has issued winter weather advisories for Box Elder, Duchesne, Emery and Juab counties.

The Utah Department of Transportation reports Utah's traction law is in effect for Big and Little Cottonwood canyons. Drivers are required to use four-wheel drive, snow tires, tire chains or other traction devices along SR-190 or SR-210 in the canyons.
