Riverdale Police make third arrest in Christmas Day murder

RIVERDALE, Utah — Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a Christmas Day murder in Riverdale.

Trevor Anthony Martin, 36, was shot and killed. A 42-year-old woman was also shot and critically wounded.

Liam Gale, 31, is the last suspect to be arrested in connection with the shooting. Riverdale Police arrested him around 12:20 Monday morning at an apartment complex in West Haven.

According to a news release from Riverdale PD, officers contacted Gale by telephone and persuaded him to exit the apartment and surrender. Officers took Gale into custody without incident.

"Upon being interviewed, Gale confessed to his involvement in this murder to include shooting the victims," the news release says.

Gale was booked at the Weber County Jail on suspicion of aggravated murder, attempted murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and obstruction of justice.

Police said Gale's capture ends an exhaustive 10-day search.

Two other suspects were arrested the day of the shooting. Brittany Rogers, 31, is accused of driving Gale and 16-year-old Rayburn Bennett to a home near 5100 S. 1050 West to commit a robbery.
Once there, police say Gale and Bennett forced their way into the victims' home. An altercation occurred, and shots were fired.

Bennett is being charged as an adult with aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and obstruction of justice.
Rogers has been formally charged with murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and obstruction of justice.
