SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City firefighters were dispatched to a fire at 1366 South Major Street in Salt Lake City just after 5:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Firefighters say three mobile homes right next to each other in this community all caught fire creating a lot of damage.
The home in the middle sustained the most damage.
Neighbor Danielle Paul says she heard the fire and saw the flames and ran for safety.
“ In a matter of like 2.2 seconds I grabbed her and these two and the dog and ran out, I couldn’t find my cat," she said. "Put them in the car, move the car across the street and came looking for the cat and I finally found my cat and we just watched it.”
Initially, firefighters thought someone may have been trapped in the middle trailer but now they believe everyone got out safely.
Power lines were also knocked down in the fire and power is shut off to the mobile home community.
The Red Cross is assisting the families displaced by the fire as well as those who are currently without power.
Firefighters are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
