KEARNS, Utah — Granite School District officials issued a "Shelter in Place" protocols for two schools Tuesday.
West Kearns and Gourley Elementary schools were placed in the protocol after police received a report of suspicious behavior by a student.
The protocol was later lifted after police cleared the area.
Under protocol procedures, all exterior doors at the school have been locked and the front door is manned by a police officer or administrator. During the protocols, school proceeds as normal inside the building.
