OGDEN, Utah — A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday on charges of murdering a 16-year-old.
According to the Ogden Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the 300 block of 9th Street at around 5:20 AM.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the 17-year-old had shot the 16-year-old.
Medical personnel responded and live-saving measures were attempted, but the victim succumbed to his injuries on scene.
Following an investigation by detectives, the shooter was booked into the Weber Valley Detention Center on charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, both of which are felonies.
Both juveniles were acquaintances. There are no additional suspects.
The name of the shooter and the victim were not released.
