A DRIVER AND HIS PASSENGER WERE ARRESTED EARLY TUESDAY MORNING AFTER A CHASE ON I-215. — A driver and his passenger were arrested early Tuesday morning after a chase on I-215.
West Valley City Police attempted to stop a vehicle that they believe had been stolen in Salt Lake City. Police attempted the traffic stop around 1:30 a.m. in the area of 2200 W and 3500 S.
Police said the driver led them on a chase from 3500 S to I-215, then abandoned the vehicle near State St.
Officers arrested the passenger for outstanding warrants and used a K-9 to apprehend the driver north of I-215.
The driver faces felony charges of evading police and possession of a stolen vehicle. Police also believe the driver was in possession of counterfeit money.
