LINCOLN COUNTY, Wyoming — One* person from the Salt Lake area was killed last week in a head-on car crash.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23 around 2 p.m., a Toyota Corolla was traveling north on U.S. Highway 30 at milepost 3 (north of Cokeville, Wyoming) when it went off the right side of the road, causing the driver to over-correct and collide with a Volvo XC60 SUV traveling in the opposite direction. The Corolla then overturned, Wyoming Highway Patrol stated in a report released Tuesday.

The driver of the Toyota, 31-year-old Morgan Wimber of Kearns*, was airlifted to the hospital. The passenger in the same car, 28-year-old Patrick S. Cline of West Valley City, died at the scene. WHP said Wimber was not wearing a seatbelt, but Cline was.

The driver and three passengers in the Volvo were all wearing seatbelts and were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries. The severity of their injuries and current medical conditions were not released as of Tuesday.

*This article previously incorrectly reported that Wimber died as well and has been corrected. She had surgery for injuries sustained but did not die.
