BLUFFDALE, Utah — An artist in Bluffdale creates artistic masterpieces that are not only beautiful, they're delicious.
While most creative geniuses use canvas or clay, Christopher Creek uses the creamy filling of Oreo cookies to express his innovative artistry. Celebrities ranging from The Beatles to, well, Cookie Monster have been immortalized in America's favorite snack.
Creek began sculpting with Oreos last April and makes one or two of the yummy works of art each week. The former part-time BYU art professor says they take about two to six hours to finish.
"I like the difficult challenge of creating something this unique." says Creek.
Leading up to Halloween, Creek took to sculpting the country's political leaders as a way to make light of what has been a highly emotional campaign season.
"We currently have some serious political issues on the line right now, and it's been a nice breather to create something that is anything but serious." said Creek. "My goal is to have viewers of my Oreo art also find a bit of relief."
