DUNCAN, S.C. — A group of dads came to the rescue when a convicted sex offender allegedly peeped on a 15-year-old girl inside a South Carolina Cracker Barrel restaurant Sunday.

The girl was using the bathroom when she said she saw a man look under the stalls in the ladies' room. Upon being noticed, Douglas Lane ran out of the bathroom and attempted to escape.

But hearing a commotion, a group of dads in town for a softball tournament saw Lane running away and chased him down. The parents were able to tackle Lane and detain him until police officers arrived on the scene.

Lane, who is a registered sex offender in North Carolina and South Carolina, was charged with voyeurism, simple possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He was convicted in 2004 of peeping on an 8 and 9-year-old in an occupied room, and in 2008 with an 18-year-old victim.

WYFF reports Lane claimed during his bond hearing Monday that he did not realize he was in the women's bathroom at the time.
