Angel Alvarez, his wife Geisha and their eight children were recently gifted a Christmas display to rival Clark Griswold's.

The intricate display at their North Carolina includes 4,000 lights and 200 feet of garland. It was put together by Christmas Decor, which installs decorations free of charge to deserving families.

Brandon Stephens, the president of Christmas Decor, said he and a team of seven others were able to put together the display in the span of four-and-a-half hours, leaving enough time for the big reveal.

Christmas Decor selected the Alvarez family after two people nominated them.

Angel Alvarez is a veteran who sustained a traumatic brain injury while serving in Iraq. He's also a two-time cancer survivor. Geisha Alvarez is working towards a degree while taking care of her husband and their children.

"It makes us happy. It makes us know that what we do for other people, help them out in a time of need, it counts for something," Angel Alvarez said.

The Alvarez family is thankful, which has made their holiday a little more bright.
