If you’ve ever wanted to easily print some of the countless photos that are saved on your phone, Polaroid has come up with a stylish way to do it.

The newPolaroid Hi-Print 2×3 Pocket Photo Printer allows you to print the photos from your phone’s camera roll onto adhesive paper with no cords needed. For now, the Hi-Print is only available directly through Polaroid’s website, but it will be sold through other retailers, such as Best Buy and Amazon, starting Sept. 10.

This nifty gadget connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and the printed images come out in the form of 2.3-by-3.4-inch photos with adhesive backing. Printing takes less than a minute and the battery should last for 20 prints before it needs to be recharged, according to the company.

Don’t let the size of this handheld photo studio fool you. Although the printer is small enough to fit in your pocket, it uses a dye-sublimation process, which results in high-quality, fade-proof and waterproof prints.

With a mobile app provided by Polaroid, you’ll also be able to add text, filters, frames and other effects to your custom stickers.

The Hi-Print is currently selling on Polaroid’s site for $99.99. It doesn’t come with the paper needed for printing but you can get a 20-sheet cartridge for $16.99, or a full starter kit that includes the printer and two 20-sheet cartridges for $129.99.

An iconic brand in the 1980s, thanks to its instant-printing cameras, by 2001, Polaroid was effectively shuttered. The company was relaunched as The Impossible Project back in 2008, and, in 2017, it was rebranded once again as Polaroid Originals. With that rebirth, the brand introduced the OneStep2 camera, which used an “i-Type” film process that produced photos that were like the classic Polaroids.

In March 2020, the company released the Polaroid Now camera. The $99 camera comes in a number of colors, including white, black, red, blue, green, yellow and orange.

“Point, shoot and keep,” reads the product description. “Our new autofocus camera makes it easy to catch life as you live it.”

An evolution of the iconic Polaroid OneStep camera from the 1970s, “The Now takes that simplicity and adds greater creative control, clean design and vibrant color to make it more than a moment maker — but a life accessory,” according to Polaroid.

The Polaroid Now has built-in double exposure, a self-timer, accurate flash and a rechargeable battery.

The new Now camera and the Hi-Print pocket printer sound like unique Christmas gifts for anyone interested in photography this year.
