A Utah woman is a quarter-finalist in a "cover girl" contest for Inked Magazine, and she could use your votes.

Christina De La Cruz, 36, is a single mom of five kids ages eight to 16. She's also a corrections officer and is dealing with multiple sclerosis.

Christina goes by "Cruz" and told us that her six tattoos all have a deep, personal story.

The messages behind each one is inspiring. For instance, she says no matter how bad you've been treated, you can become whatever you want. She also lives by the mantra "be the heroine in your life, not the victim". She also believes that you should love your life and beautify all things in your life.

The contest in Inked Magazine (which is a magazine dedicated to all things tattoo) caught Cruz's eye and she decided to enter it. She's still in the running, making it through four levels.

Voting for Semi-Finalists ends Thursday February 25 at 9pm Utah time. If you'd like to vote for Cruz, click here and find her by her Instagram handle @limited.edition.cruz.
