'Tis the season for giving back, and that's something Young Living Foundation knows all about.

We talked with Jackie Skinner, Executive Director of Global Philanthropy at the Young Living Foundation, to learn more about the Foundation that has been in existence since 2009.

She says the Foundation has three core areas they focus on: Developing Enterprise, Championing Education and Ending Exploitation.

Jackie says the Developing Enterprise focus area helps women around the world who have ideas, talents and gifts to create businesses, but they don't have resources or the opportunity to create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their children.

Young Living Foundation works to bridge that gap. They invest in female-led businesses and fair-trade enterprises, including artisan groups.

That includes two female-led artisan groups in Salt Lake City and on the Navajo Reservation in Southern Utah.

In Salt Lake City, they are working with a group of 40 refugee women who call themselves Free Women. They are from Afghanistan, Somalia DR Congo, Iran and Kenya, and they make beautiful handmade items.

You can go to YoungLivingFoundation.org to learn more. Or, visit YoungLiving.com click on Holiday Gift Bag and you'll see featured items by artisans.. .and there are more coming through all the time so be sure to check back!
