Halloween is a great time to Scare Away Hunger, and this October you can donate to help Utahns all month long.
Pastor Joe Vazquez with The Salt Lake City Rescue Mission says the need has nearly doubled in 2020. In fact, he says they've seen an increase of 70 percent of people needing a little help. And, many of them are first-time guests who haven't needed the Mission before.
Pastor Joe says it's important to remember the people in our state who are struggling to put food on the table. This year they're putting together more than 7,500 food boxes.
He's hoping the community gets excited to help with some fun activities and locations where you can donate.
There are food drives going on at dozens of locations across the valley.
Zurcher stores are also accepting donations.
And, there will be an Entertainment Night at All-Star Bowing.
