Opening a new dinner theater during a pandemic might seem a bit crazy to some people, but for the creators of the new ShadowLight Dinner Theater at Stone Gate, the timing couldn't be better.
Founders Matt and Jennie Johnson, have been planning to open an elegant dinner theater in their wedding venue, Stone Gate, in Pleasant Grove for several years. And instead of letting the pandemic derail their plans, they have redoubled their efforts to make it a reality.
"We know that people are yearning for a chance to connect and be entertained," said Jennie Johnson, owner and co-founder of the ShadowLight Dinner Theater. "When people come to ShadowLight, they'll be treated to a wonderful, immersive experience from the moment they walk through the door. It is a great activity for couples and friends to connect and enjoy a wonderful evening.

The side-splitting story takes place during a wedding rehearsal dinner during the 1950s in the exquisite Richmond Manor. Murder, mayhem and madcap antics ensue as dinner guests attempt to unravel the mystery's twists and turns in order to "unmasque" the murderer.
Performances run Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from October 16 through November 9. In keeping with the theme, guests are welcome to come dressed in either 1950s attire or their finest evening wear. Masks are required to be worn except while eating.
UnMasqued was written by Jennie Johnson and Susan Glenn. The performance features 11 main cast members, all actors from throughout the Wasatch Front, including well-known local actor Tina Fontana as the lead. Original music was written by Jacob Khalil from New York.
