The first day of July will be a warm one!
After a cool start to the week, temperatures will climb several degrees higher than yesterday and hover close to average for this time of year.
High-based showers & isolated t-storms are possible in the north late this afternoon & evening. Very little if any precipitation would reach the ground, but gusty winds are possible, especially in far Northern Utah.
A dry southwest flow will keep fire danger elevated through the weekend, especially in Southern & Eastern Utah. A red flag warning is in effect for SE Utah this afternoon & evening. The highest fire danger this week will likely be on Friday.
It's going to get even hotter by the holiday weekend & into early next week!
