A fire broke out in a building in downtown Salt Lake City early Saturday morning.

According to Captain Anthony Burton with the Salt Lake City Fire Department, crews initially responded to reports of heavy smoke coming from a building at 326 West and 700 South.

Once they were able to access the building, they switched to an fire attack approach.

Initial reports indicate there was a large vehicle inside the building on fire, which has since been extinguished.

The combination of cold weather and heavy smoke made the conditions difficult.

This is a developing story.
