Unified Police say a 13-year-old girl was nearly kidnapped by a man while walking on the street in Herriman Wednesday.

The girl tells police she was walking north on 5600 West and 13700 South, on her way home from school at about 3 p.m., when the suspect approached her and grabbed her by the arm. She says he started to pull her arm while saying she needed to come with him. She says she kicked the suspect's leg to break free.

The teen says she ran south on 5600 West and the suspect ran off through a nearby park. The girl arrived at her friend's house where she called police. She was unharmed.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a muscular build, having dark hair that comes down past his eyes. The teen described the suspect's face as drooped on the left side and was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes with a blue emblem. She said the suspect smelled of alcohol and cigarettes.

UPD is asking for the public's help identifying the suspect and gives a warning that the suspect is potentially dangerous.
