A prominent local businessman that was hit and killed by a bus is being honor Thursday night.
Richard Wirick, 82, owned and operated The Oxford Shop, a men’s shoe store, in downtown Salt Lake City.
He was affectionately known as “Mr. Downtown” for his advocacy of local businesses.
A memorial to honor him will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Gallivan Plaza. The public is welcome to attend.
The Downtown Alliance will be collecting donation to create a permanent memorial for Wirick.
