Coach Kyle Whittingham takes heavy machinery to the Smith Athletics Center at the University of Utah on Tuesday.
The old football center with be replaced by a new $30 million football facility, which is planned to open in time for the 2013 season, according to a press release.
The Utes will also gain new practice fields when the project is completed and will practice in Rice-Eccles Stadium and the Spence Eccles Field House until then.
