WEST JORDAN, Utah - As police continue their investigation into the murder of 6-year-old Sierra Newbold, friends and neighbors organized a yard sale on Saturday to help her family.
Police haven't released much new information in their investigation beyond saying that they're following up on dozens of tips in Sierra's murder. Some are getting worried that there haven't been any arrests, but their focus on Saturday was on Sierra's parents Brad and Kathy.
Dozens of people attended the yard sale and fundraiser on Saturday, buying clothing, electronics and baked goods for sale with all proceeds going to Sierra's family.
"Help them be okay with finances. We just don't want them to stress out about anything else. We don't even know what they need we just wanted to be there to help them," said Myndi Hurst, who organized the yard sale.
Organizers tell FOX 13 the sale raised more than $4,000 for the Newbold family.
