TOOELE, Utah — A woman and child are in the hospital after a head-on collision in Tooele County on Tuesday.
The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 112 and Utah Avenue in Tooele.
Utah Highway Patrol says one car was traveling westbound on Utah Avenue and the other southbound on SR-112 when they collided.
The status of the mother and child has not been released. UHP says the family of five in the SUV suffered minor injuries.
The two people in the car were more seriously hurt.
“We had a child in the blue car and an adult female in the blue car that were sent to the hospital by a helicopter, but outside of that everything else was kind of minor injuries,” said Tooele Police Sgt. Don Nelson.
Police say there is no evidence either driver was impaired. However the accident is still under investigation.
