SALT LAKE CITY – The Brigham Young University Cougars are heading up to Salt Lake City Saturday night to play the University of Utah in the annual “Holy War” rivalry football game. UDOT is warning football fans to leave early and prepare for construction and heavy traffic on their way downtown.

The game starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah County residents are encouraged to leave by 6 p.m. if they want to get to the stadium before kick-off.

There will be narrow, shifting lanes and other changing conditions in Utah County from Spanish Fork to Pleasant Grove.

The Orem 1600 North interchange is closed for paving through late September. Commuters are encouraged to use the Orem 800 North and Pleasant Grove Blvd. exits as alternate routes.

UTA is offering additional services starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday for fans heading to the U. For a schedule of those increased transit, visit www.letsrideuta.com.
