WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting in West Valley City on Friday.
It happened at the Lexington Park Apartments at 2292 West Lexington Park Drive (3700 South) at around 1:20 p.m.
Witnesses tell FOX 13 that they heard two vehicles crash, then multiple gunshots. Soon after, officers swarmed the apartment complex.
West Valley City Police officials say two detectives were making contact during an investigation before shots were fired. One of them was injured, but not from gunfire. That detective was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses tell FOX 13 the victim that was killed appears to be a woman.
