Posted

The man involved in a standoff with SWAT in Ogden died as a result of a self-inflicted gun shot, according to the Office of the State Medical Examiner.

Police responded to the Ogden home on Sunday after receiving a 911 call. The Weber County Attorney’s Office said officers were invited into the home to investigate and were shot at by Aaron Collier.

The officers did not have their weapons drawn when they entered the home, but they did return fire, according to the Weber County Attorney’s Office.

Collier was struck in the leg, but the injury was not life threatening, according to police.

Police said Collier barricaded himself inside and refused to come out. He communicated by text message with at least one friend while he was inside, according to Weber County Attorney’s Office.

The Weber County Attorney’s Office said the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
