PARK CITY, Utah – A Salt Lake City man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Park City on Sunday.

Utah Highway Patrol officials say 38-year-old Paul Velo from Salt Lake City was traveling northbound on SR-224 near Silver Springs Drive in Park City when he lost control of his car as it approached a curve in the road at around 1:45 a.m.

The car traveled off the road and in the dirt before Velo tried to get it back on the road, forcing the car up an embankment then roll off the road.

Velo was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car when it rolled. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, but preliminary reports suggest that speed and possible DUI may have been involved.
