Man arrested for alleged aggravated robbery at Kmart

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – West Valley City police say they’ve arrested a man accused in the aggravated robbery of a Kmart last month

Police say 28-year-old Ricky Zazueta is suspected of pulling out a gun on employees at the Kmart at 1770 West and 4100 South on Nov. 10.

Employees had suspected the man of shoplifting and, as they were escorting him to the store office, they say he pulled out the gun and threatened them.

“He produced a handgun, pointed it in their direction and fled; obviously turning this simple shoplift into an aggravated robbery,” said West Valley City Police Sgt. Mike Powell.

Zazueta is now in custody, facing multiple charges including theft, aggravated robbery and a felon in possession of a firearm.
