PROVO CANYON--A woman who was injured while ice climbing in Provo Canyon has died, according to a spokesman for University Medical Center.

Meghan Arnold, 32, fell approximately 40 feet while climbing near Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon last Wednesday and injured her head.

Her climbing partner, John Lavalla, tried to help, but he fell too and suffered minor injuries.

Because of the terrain, crews had a hard time reaching Arnold and needed a medical helicopter to fly her to the hospital.

Arnold had been listed in critical condition since the accident.
