Woman hospitalized after attempted mugging in SLC alley

SALT LAKE CITY – A woman was hospitalized after an attempted mugging in a Salt Lake City alley.

Police say that a man with a knife demanded a woman’s purse in the alley behind the Faustina Restaurant at 454 East and 300 South in Salt Lake City at around 8:15 p.m.

The man reportedly threatened to slit the woman’s throat, then a struggle ensued and the woman was stabbed in the neck. She was taken to a local hospital but appeared to have non-life threatening injuries.

Police used bloodhounds to attempt to locate the man, but have not been able to locate him.
