Police identify man found dead in Logan River

UPDATE: Logan City police identified the man as 64-year-old Kenneth Schwartz

LOGAN, Utah – A man was found dead in the Logan River on Friday morning.

The Logan City Police Dept. said in a news release Friday that at around 10:20 a.m., dispatchers were notified of a man face-down in the Logan River near 843 South and 100 West.

When crews arrived, police say, they found the 64-year-old man non-viable and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Multiple police sources say the man went out to fish in the river. His cause of death is unknown, but police don’t see any signs of foul play. The investigation is ongoing.
