FARR WEST, Utah — A Farr West girl who was injured after she became entangled in a swing on Thursday night has died.

Lt. Mark Lowther, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed that the girl passed away on Saturday night in the hospital. She was identified as Gracie Becker.

Gracie was taken by helicopter to Primary Children’s Medical Center Thursday night after she became entangled in a swing set.

The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. at a residence on Renuda drive. Gracie’s father allowed her to play in the backyard. She was there for fewer than 5 minutes when her father found her entangled in a “rope apparatus,” the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Sheriff’s deputies and EMTs from the Weber District arrived at the scene and found Gracie in cardiac distress. They were able to restore her pulse before she was transported to PCMC.
