PROVO, Utah – The Cougarette dance team of Brigham Young University returned from Daytona Beach on Sunday with two national titles in hand.
The team was at the 2013 NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship, which took place this past week. The team’s goal was to win two titles, and Cougarettes Artistic Director Jodi Maxfield said that’s exactly what they did.
“They are bringing back two national titles,” she said. “They took first place in the hip-hop division, which is three consecutive in a row now. And then they took first place, so this makes our first national title since we started competing in 1997.”
