OREM, Utah — A man is behind bars after a fight in an Orem apartment complex ended with a stabbing.

Police responded to a call at an apartment complex near 400 East and 720 North shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday.

According to a press release from the Orem Police Department, three men and a woman had been drinking in the apartment, and at one point 26-year-old Ronald Willis became upset and tried to punch his roommate. The two male victims subdued Willis at that time and got him to cool down.

About 30 minutes after that, Willis came out of a bedroom with a small folding knife and tried to attack that same roommate. The other male roommate intervened, and together the two victims tried to disarm Willis. One roommate was stabbed twice in the arm and once in the stomach during the struggle.

The two men were able to hold Willis down, and they called police. When police arrived the men ran out of the home. Willis followed, and police ordered him to the ground and then arrested him.

The victims were treated at a local hospital and released.

Willis was booked into the Utah County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, intoxication and interfering.

A fourth person, 24-year-old Ashley Falstad, was found in the home. She was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
