SALT LAKE CITY -- A celebration of diversity is planned to take place in Salt Lake City this weekend.

The 2013 Utah Pride Festival will be held at Washington Square. The theme for this year's event is "Gotta Be Real...Equality."

About 20,000 people are expected to attend the festival and show their support for the LGBT community. Festivities include music, food, entertainment, a 5K run and a parade on Sunday.

"Each year, we come out to celebrate and have a big fun weekend, but we also use this as a chance to increase visibility for our community and to raise funds to help programs at the [Utah] Pride Center year round," said Utah Pride Festival Marketing Manager Davey Stevenson.

Former pro soccer player David Testo will serve as the Grand Marshal in this year's parade. Testo is the first North American pro soccer player to come out publicly.

Alex Newell from FOX's "Glee" and singer Thelma Houston will also appear at the festival.
